Last weekend I did a small, local show with some friends and fellow creative types. Partly because of my obsessive nature, partly because of my desire to show others the weaving process, I almost always bring my little rigid heddle loom (RH) to shows. This was no exception. I had to do two demonstrations in March, and having no idea how much I’d get woven either time, I warped my rigid heddle loom for two scarves. I’d recently bought this brightly-colored yarn that’s a cotton-linen-rayon blend. It’s not my usual choice [...] I don’t know why I always want to do something hard. Isn’t easy good enough? Apparently not. I had woven two of these beautiful hand painted rayon chenille scarves (top and right). They’re lovely, with the warp being a colorway Tammy calls Visionary – a blend of purples and dark green. I used [...] Continuing my custom weaving orders, I wove this handsome alpaca scarf. My customer has a forest green coat with brown trim, and wanted these colors in the pattern I’d woven earlier in the red, gray & black.
