When you buy a handwoven item from Second Wind Weaving, you can be sure that it was 100% made in the USA. All planning, preparation, weaving, and finishing is done by one person: Margaret Cherre. You can learn more about me on the About page.
I weave in my home. For many years that meant on a dirt road in rural Western New York. I recently downsized in a move to Rochester, NY. My studio the focal point of my home. I spend more time there than in any other room, so I’m very thankful that my new home includes a large, bright weaving studio.
I weave with cotton and rayon, silk and wool, alpaca and bamboo, chenille and more. When possible, I buy yarns that are spun and dyed in the United States and Canada. All of my suppliers are based on the USA, and I know that they selling American-made yarns, fair trade yarns, and colorfast yarns dyed with eco-friendly methods.
I never sell items woven by anyone else, regardless of location…you will always get the results of my own design, choice of colors and fibers, and my arms and legs doing the work at the loom.
