{"id":8446,"date":"2017-06-22T19:21:47","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T00:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/?p=8446"},"modified":"2017-06-22T19:21:47","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T00:21:47","slug":"winning-technique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/2017\/06\/winning-technique\/","title":{"rendered":"Winning technique"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, wow, WOW!!<\/p>\n<p>A reader who chose to email me instead of commenting suggested that I look at a website who&#8217;s owner had a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colorwaysbyvicki.com\/save-my-bleeding-quilt.html\">long entry<\/a> all about removing stray dye, although it&#8217;s specific to quilts.<\/p>\n<p>I read the post, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colorwaysbyvicki.com\/uploads\/7\/6\/6\/4\/76648385\/savemybleedingquilt.pdf\">PDF document<\/a> with the detailed directions, and honestly, I thought, &#8220;that can&#8217;t work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But today I decided to try it, since it seemed easier than almost anything else.  Besides, what did I have to lose?<\/p>\n<p>I modified Vicki&#8217;s process just slightly, using a dishpan instead of the tub and soaking the scarf only 4 hours instead of 12.  I pulled the scarf out of the water and was amazed.  No stray dye!  No aura on the stripes! It will come to the show with me this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Think I might be hiding them there in the wrapping?
