{"id":3942,"date":"2012-07-26T19:55:10","date_gmt":"2012-07-27T00:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/?p=3942"},"modified":"2012-07-26T19:55:10","modified_gmt":"2012-07-27T00:55:10","slug":"silk-lace-handwoven-scarves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/2012\/07\/silk-lace-handwoven-scarves\/","title":{"rendered":"Silk Lace Handwoven Scarves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in May I wove some <a href=\"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/2012\/05\/twofer\/\" target=\"_blank\">lace &#8216;checkerboard&#8217; scarves<\/a> in bamboo.  Although I called it huck at the time, it&#8217;s not really.  It&#8217;s a Swedish lace.  I&#8217;m certain that&#8217;s neither important nor meaningful to anyone but a weaver.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I liked the way the scarves looked even if the checkerboard pattern only showed up if you caught the light just right.  I only had three handwoven silk scarves for my July show, and since I had some lovely 20\/2 undyed spun silk I decided I&#8217;d repeat that weaving pattern.<\/p>\n<p>This time I remembered to snap a few pix while it was on the loom, since the checkerboard pattern shows up well while I&#8217;m weaving. Nor did I sell my <a href=\"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/2012\/01\/loom-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\">ice green silk lace<\/a>.  You just never know what people will buy.  Or at least I don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure not complaining &#8212; I sold 6 shawls and 47 scarves at that show!!!!  So now I&#8217;m weaving like mad again.
