Although I’ve visited him often enough at his house in the city, and keep up with his daily antics on his blog, it was the first time Baxter had been down to my house in the country. We were all looking forward to it.

It was lots of fun to watch Baxter romp with my little dog, Red. The two of them gleefully chased each other around the yard, tromped through most of my gardens, and annoyed Magic, my aged cat. Like a typical little boy, Bax loved playing in the edge of my pond, getting wet and muddy despite the cool temperatures.

This grandma wasn’t fully prepared for the visit; I didn’t have any toys! Not to worry. For most of the visit, Baxter was happy to play with whatever treasures my yard provided: sticks, leaves, and even a toad! Inside, he couldn’t get enough of an old, empty dog food bag.

Ok, it’s time to tell you my secret – Baxter is a dog. A Tibetan Terrier, to be precise. He’s about 9 months old, and full of energy and inquisitiveness. B didn’t stop moving the entire time he was at my house, so I’m sure he conked out completely for the car ride home, and was probably out for the night right after eating his dinner.

Here are a few pics of Baxter’s country adventure.

Red & Baxter in the garden

Magic's not happy

Baxter buried in the bag

My daughter brought my grandson down to visit me this Sunday.
