We had a <em>delicious<\/em> gourmet lunch made with locally-grown veggies &#038; fruits, served in a heritage barn.  I remain remarkably impressed that this farm has remained undivided and in the family for almost 200 years!<\/p>\n<p> <div id=\"attachment_307\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-307\" src=\"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/hurd-farm1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Amy talks about working with flowers\" title=\"hurd-farm\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-307\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-307\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Amy talks about working with flowers<\/p><\/div>After lunch Amy taught us how to make stunning floral arrangements with peonies, roses, lady&#8217;s mantle, and more, all grown there on the farm.  This is where I learned about the Sarah Bernhardt peony, on the <em>very day<\/em> that <a href=\"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/2009\/06\/ruth-sarah\/\" target= \"_blank\">Ruth&#8217;s<\/a> opened for the first time in 12 years.<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_309\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-309\" src=\"https:\/\/secondwindjewelry.com\/jewelry-weaving-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/my-vase-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"My vase\" title=\"my-vase\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-309\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-309\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My vase<\/p><\/div>You might think that all of the vases would look the same, but they didn&#8217;t.  Although there were definite similarities since we were using the same materials, each had our own personal signature on it, our own sense of placement, height, and fullness.
