Although I dearly love my handmade 4-harness counterbalance loom, it’s not very portable. My little, old LeClerc rigid heddle loom, on the other hand, moves around with ease. I really like taking the rigid heddle loom to shows and weaving actual pieces on it as much as possible during the show. In general, two [...] Although I do all my weaving at home on a floor loom (usually my delightful, handmade, 4-harness counterbalance), I really like to bring my LeClerc rigid heddle loom to shows to demonstrate the weaving process. Lots of people like to watch me weave, and when I’m doing a plain weave, I can get kids involved [...] A few years ago when I first saw a scarf handwoven in a log cabin pattern, it blew me away. How has a whole week gone by without me posting?! Trust me, I have been keeping busy. I was babysitting for my grand-dog for a week while my daughter was out of town. Baxter kept us all amused for 5 of the 6 days he was with us. Then he got bored [...] I finished the bamboo warp. I’d warped for two wide (20″) handwoven scarves or shawls in 100% bamboo yarn in a cool minty green. I wove the first in a tabby, planning to make this one into an infinity scarf.
